Emily in Paris season 3 had a lot of fabulous fashion but Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins) did usher in a new era when it came to her look with some freshly-cut baby bangs. After Emily struggled to make a decision about her love life and her professional career, a therapeutically chop with some blunt bangs was just what she needed.

While Emily took the scissors into her own hands for a DIY cut (Ashley Park’s character Mindy Chen dubbed them “trauma bangs”), Collins had some professional help and shared the moment on Instagram this week.

“Not exactly trauma bangs… unlike Emily, I didn’t cut these myself,” wrote Collins on Instagram. “Big thank you to the master @gregoryrussellhair for inducting me into my fringe era and starting Emily’s new hair journey…”

In the video, Collins smiled and giggled through her hair transformation by famed celebrity hairstylist Gregory Russell. A fresh-faced Collins is seen sitting on a stool wearing a baby pink cape as Russell works his magic. The hair aficionado commented on the video, “How lucky am I to cut these bangs🥰.”

Collins debuted her new ‘do back in November of 2021 ahead of filming season 3 of Emily in Paris.

News of Emily Cooper’s new bangs even reached the National Hockey League. As seen in a now-viral social media video, the beloved Netflix series was the topic of discussion on the ice between Buffalo Sabres left winger Jeff Skinner and his teammate, defenseman Mattias Samuelsson.

The NHL team’s official TikTok account shared a video of the hysterical exchange on Dec. 23 with the caption, “Did you finish it yet? 😂”

After Skinner brings up Emily in Paris, Samuelsson asks, “What’s that?” After Skinner tells him it’s a show, Samuelsson responds, “Never heard of it. Is that your favorite show?”

“There’s a new season coming out,” said Skinner. “This season, she gets bangs!” Season 3 of the smash hit dropped on Netflix on Dec. 21 and has been lighting up social media ever since. See all the best reactions, here.
