The Emily in Paris hysteria has reached the National Hockey League. According to a now-viral social media video, the beloved Netflix series was the topic of discussion on the ice between Buffalo Sabres left winger Jeff Skinner and his teammate, defenseman Mattias Samuelsson.
The NHL team’s official TikTok account shared a video of the hysterical exchange on Dec. 23 with the caption, “Did you finish it yet? 😂” In the clip, Skinner brings up Emily in Paris, and Samuelsson asks, “What’s that?” After Skinner tells him it’s a show, Samuelsson responded, “Never heard of it. Is that your favorite show?”
“There’s a new season coming out,” said Skinner. “This season she gets bangs!” The comment section blew up, with fans writing in, “I think Jeff Skinner should have his own show-he’s hilarious 😂,” “Jeff skinner is the most adorable hockey player ever,” and “‘This season she gets bangs’ – WHOLESOME.”
The wholesome exchange quickly made its way to leading lady Lily Collins. The actress posted the video on her own Instagram account, writing, “Well this is one @emilyinparis crossover I wasn’t expecting…” Her co-star Ashley Park added four applause emojis in the comments, while Jennifer Garner wrote, “Hahaha hugest compliment out there! 👏👏👏👏👏” The official Emily in Paris Instagram account chimed in with, “put me in coach 🏒.”
Not the first time Skinner has expressed his love for the series, the hockey player was mic’d up on the ice in January of 2022 when teammate Vinnie Hinostroza asked him, “How’s Emily in Paris?”

Adorably laughing, Skinner replied, “It’s a good show.” The Buffalo Sabres’ Twitter account captioned the clip, “Who DOESN’T like ‘Emily In Paris’ tho?”
In January 2022, Netflix announced that Emily in Paris would be renewed for both seasons 3 and 4. Season 3 of the smash hit dropped on Netflix on Dec. 21. It looks like with season 4 confirmed, there’s plenty of wiggle room to feature Skinner with a cameo in the series. Here’s hoping!
