If there was ever any doubt over the revival of the King Kylie era, in the past few months Kylie Jenner has proven it’s most definitely here.

The youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters, who became iconic during the late Tumblr era for her grunge wardrobe, bright hair colors and plump lips, quickly amassed one of the biggest followings in the world on Instagram in the early days of the app with even her older sister Kim Kardashian looking to her for style advice. At the time, Jenner dubbed herself “King Kylie” in an ode to her then-boyfriend Tyga, a name which has stuck and which still has fan accounts dedicated to it.

Fast forward six years and Jenner is ready to make her return to the top, teasing the revival of her King Kylie era earlier this year before making a slew of ultra high-fashion appearances, including sitting front row at the biggest shows of Paris Fashion Week and now hitting the CFDA Awards in one of the night’s most iconic looks.

For the event, Jenner borrowed from the archives of French designer Thierry Mugler, wearing a vintage gown from the autumn 1999 collection.

The dress, which is made with a semi-sheer pleated fabric on its top half with a matching sleeve, then leads into a high-slit black skirt. Jenner paired the statement dress with simple black pumps, pulling her brunette hair back into a wet-look up-do and adding a high-shine lipgloss and diamond earrings.

Jenner’s date for the night was her mum, Kris Jenner, who wore a black long-sleeve, high-neck dress, adding pops of color through her statement gold earrings and gold clutch.

The night was a family affair with Jenner’s two older sisters, Khloé and Kim Kardashian, also in attendance with the latter taking home the Innovator Award for her shapewear brand SKIMS.
