Kris Jenner has shared a series of never-before-seen pictures of her “beautiful” granddaughter North as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s eldest celebrates turning eight. The post includes snaps of the young girl with her father, posing with a balloon hat, and rocking her mom’s SKIMS sleepwear line, and Kris paid tribute to the “ray of sunshine.”

“Happy birthday to our beautiful Northie!!! You are truly such a ray of sunshine and you light up every room with your amazing smile and huge heart,” wrote mom-of-six Kris. “You are so funny, talented, smart, and so creative!! You are an amazing daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. I love watching you grow and I am so proud of you each and every day. I love you so so much!!!!”

She signed off with her nickname, Lovey.

North is Kris’s second eldest grandchild. She is also grandmother to Kourtney’s three children, Mason, Penelope, and Reign; Kim’s four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm; Khloe’s daughter True; Rob’s daughter Dream; and Kylie’s daughter Stormi.

In one picture, North could be seen holding a bird up high, while in others she poses for a selfie, wraps her arms around her younger siblings, and in one rides on top of her father’s shoulders.

Kim and Kanye wed in Italy in 2014, a year after welcoming North. But after a tumultuous 2020, the reality star filed for divorce from the rapper in early 2021. Kanye has since filed for joint physical and legal custody of his four children. The 43-year-old rapper cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split and asked that separate and shared property be determined “according to proof at time of trial or settlement.”

Neither Kim nor Kanye have released any official statement, but in the recent finale of keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kima admitted she was lonely and her 40th birthday made her realize some truths.
“I never thought I was lonely,” Kim told Kris. “I thought it was totally fine to just have my kids, that my husband could just move from state to state, and I’m just on this ride with him. I was okay with that, but after turning 40 this year, I was like no, I don’t want a husband who lives in a completely different state.”

“It’s the little things that I don’t have — I have all the big things,” she continued. “I have the extravagant, everything you could possibly imagine, and no one will ever do it like that. I know that, and I’m grateful for those experiences. But I think I’m ready for the smaller experiences that I think will mean a lot.”
