In court documents obtained by E! News, it has been revealed Kanye West has filed for joint physical and legal custody of his four children to Kim Kardashian. Following the couple’s very public divorce in February, Kardashian also requested joint custody of North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1.

The document reveals each party involved should pay their own legal fees and that neither party will receive spousal support. The 43-year-old rapper cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split and asked that separate and shared property be determined “according to proof at time of trial or settlement.”

The news arrives after TMZ reported rumours that Kardashian would have ownership of the 15,000-square-foot Southern California Kimye mansion. It is reportedly worth upwards of USD $40 million.

Up until now, West has remained silent both officially and on social media surrounding the divorce and settlement. In fact, the last time he posted to Twitter was in November, 2020. The new court information however speaks volumes to the fact the pair are looking for a fair and clean split.

Kardashian hasn’t released an official statement either, but in a recent interview admitted the past 12 months had been difficult.

“I always try to look at things in a positive way,” Kardashian said. “Even though it has been such a challenging year, it’s a time to regenerate, get creative, spend so much time with family and just this time I’ve been able to spend with my children has been priceless. That part has been so beautiful.”

The reality star also seems to hold a white flag for her former-husband after she posted to Instagram on Easter weekend wearing unreleased YEEZY product.

According to a Page Six source, Kardashian “needed to end the marriage for the sake of her kids and her own sanity,” noting that, “Kim was really supportive of Kanye during his struggle with his mental health. But she knows she has to do the right thing for her kids.”

More to come.
