Kim Kardashian is yet to publicly make a comment on her divorce from Kanye West. Her mother, Kris Jenner, however spoke to the Wall Street Journal this week on her own separation from Caitlyn Jenner, Robert Kardashian and the important advice she passed on to her second eldest daughter.

“I think the most important thing I learned through my experience, both of my experiences, is kids come first,” she said. “And I think if you keep that in the front of your mind and know they are gonna get you through, love is gonna get you through, no matter how much you’re hurting.”

Reflecting on her divorce from Robert, Jenner said, “I used to put everybody to bed and then I would be upset, go to my room, and cry myself to sleep. But I didn’t want to have a pity party in front of the kids.”

Jenner said she learned from her own childhood that divorced families can still remain amicable and that she could make co-parenting work.

It comes after Kanye West filed for joint physical and legal custody of the former couple’s four children, North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1. It is the first time the rapper has publicly responded to the divorce. In addition, West cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split and asked that separate and shared property be determined “according to proof at time of trial or settlement.”

Jenner also revealed in the aforementioned interview that ex-husband, Caitlyn Jenner, would appear in the final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

“I think it’s very respectful,” Jenner said on their current relationship. “She’s the father of two of my kids, and so that speaks volumes.”

On February 19, Kardashian officially filed for divorce. On January 5, it was reported that a divorce was “imminent” after the reality star hired LA-based attorney to the stars, Laura Wasser.
