Yesterday Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram to share some throwback photos from a 2001 trip to Cabo San Lucas, when the Keeping Up alum was only 20-years-old. This was pre KUWTK, pre-Kanye West and even pre-friendship with Paris Hilton, imagine a time when Kim Kardashian wasn’t a household name.
She shared the two bikini-clad photos with her 239 million Instagram followers, she captioned the post “Little K ©️2001.” She wore a multicolored string bikini and posed in a pool for the photographer, before a photoshoot was a whole operation with lighting and makeup artists, just a Kardashian on vacation.
The other Kardashian sisters commented on the post, sharing a fond love for the vintage snaps of their sister. Khloé Kardashian wrote “‘OMG baby k. Cutie. In Cabo.”
These photos come after Kardashian was seen at Kanye West’s Donda album listening party at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. One of the songs West played was called “Love Unconditionally” which is reportedly about West and Kardashian’s divorce and how he feels like he “lost” his family. The rapper reportedly fell to his knees and sobbed when the song was debuted at the event.
Despite the pretty on-the-nose reference to their divorce in the song, West reportedly gave Kardashian a heads up about the material on the track. With a source close to Kanye adding that Kardashian even “gave her input” before the song was debuted at the event.
Now, thinking about a 20-year-old Kim, you can’t help but wonder if she knew what she had in store for her life. Did she know that she would be a mother of four, sharing her children with one of the best known, both famously and infamously, rappers of the 21st century? Did she know that she’d be a mogul of a beauty brand and underwear line at 40? Regardless, it’s always interesting to go back and look at old photos and see what has changed, and, for Kardashian, a whole lot is different.
