Since she was old enough to walk, North West has demonstrated an inherited passion that both her mother, Kim Kardashian, and father, Kanye West, share: a love of fashion.
Often documenting her ‘fits on her TikTok account, accompanying her mum to sit front row at European fashion weeks, and debuting a handbag collection to rival her grandmother Kris Jenner’s, it’s clear the 9-year-old has no qualms about being in the public eye when it comes to showcasing her signature style.
It only makes sense then that Kardashian would take her oldest child as her date to The Daily Front Row Fashion Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.
For the event, North opted to stick with what she feels comfortable in: black, wearing a black T-shirt underneath a cropped black blazer and a pair of wide-leg black pants that zipped open on the sides, revealing a pair of zip-front chunky platform boots – her favorite shoe – embellished with the Dolce & Gabbana logo in silver at the front.
North added a diamond necklace that featured a cross charm and rectangular shield sunglasses, wearing her hair pulled back into a long ponytail with a side-parted slicked-down fringe.
Her mum, meanwhile, opted to wear a matching two-piece made up of a cropped bra top and high-waisted wrap skirt with a thigh-high slit. The look was elevated through its material: thick grey suiting. She finished it off with a pair of metallic gunmetal wraparound sandals, a stack of silver bangles, and a sculptural neck-plate necklace, wearing her black hair long and straight with a middle part.
The stylish mother-daughter duo not only walked the carpet together, but they took to the stage to present family friend and celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton with the Hair Artist of the Year Award. North, wearing her sunglasses, took the mic first, exclaiming to the audience: “There’s no words. Chris Appleton’s the best.”
“Okay, well, you’ve heard it from North West,” Kardashian said, before adding her own tribute to Appleton.
