Last night industry leaders and A-Listers gathered in New York City at the Modern Museum of Art for the Wall Street Journal’s 2021 Innovator Awards — its first in-person event since the pandemic. The event honored this year’s figures who have been trailblazers across various disciplines, including fashion, art, entertainment, architecture, design, technology, the performing arts, philanthropy, food, literature, and more.

Although from several different industries, there was a common medium between many of the stars walking the red carpet — style. There was no shock that Kim Kardashian, who was honored for her cult-favorite shapewear brand, naturally wore her recent SKIMS x Fendi collaboration. The 41-year-old mogul accessorized the leather dress with matching opera gloves, snake print boots, and dazzling diamonds that were pretty hard to miss. Martha Stewart also attended the awards in monochromatic brown look. Opting to leave the bodycon silhouette to Kardashian, the businesswoman wore a brown suit paired with a metallic pussy-bow shirt and matching bag. We’re calling it–brown is the color of the season.

Demi Moore also attended the Innovator Awards in head-to-toe Fendi arriving on the carpet with creative director Kim Jones. She looked stunning in a tailored navy velvet suit from the Italian houses Winter Capsule collection. She completed the look with black boots, the brand’s iconic Peekaboo bag, and Fendi O’Lock earring. Emily Ratajkowski kept her look simple and chic in a body-hugging white dress from the New York label Khaite. While Ratajkowski kept things minimal, Lil Nas hit the carpet adding a moment of camp. The 22-year-old rapper was honored as Music Innovator of the Year in a Thom Browne button-up, pleated skirt, and unique but oh so adorable dog bag.
