Kim Kardashian is back in New York City and this time she packed Gucci to stop traffic. She’s in the city to fête the opening of SKIMS’ summer pop-up shop at Rockefeller Center and stepped out of her hotel in a sexy black dress that might look familiar to fashion lovers. That’s because it was seen on the runway during Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2023 show, (you know the one with twin models on the catwalk).
What makes the look truly another level of Gucci is the leather straps across her hips with glistening “G’s” — a nod to Gucci’s iconic harness skirt from the SS98 collection courtesy of Tom Ford.
Kardashian is no stranger to dipping into the vaults of famous fashion houses. From her controversial Marilyn Monroe dress Met Gala moment to her recent purchase of Jackie Kennedy’s Cartier Tank watch and Princess Diana’s Swan necklace, Kardashian enjoys pieces of the past. So much so, that she designed a collection with Dolce & Gabbana where she hand selected pieces from the ’90s and early 2000s to be reimagined for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 show. If you scroll through her Instagram, you’ll see endless vintage moments from Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Dior and Alexander McQueen, just to name a few.
In honor of her epic Gucci throwback moment, we rounded up some of our favorite Kardashian blasts from the pasts.
