Kim Kardashian and Kanye West celebrated their sixth-wedding anniversary over the weekend, a spectacle to rival the Royal wedding and hosted in Florence, Italy. The couple surprised guests by flying them on private chartered jets into the Italian city for the ceremony where the bride wore custom Givenchy haute couture as she walked down the aisle and past Andrea Bocelli who was singing live.
Two nights prior, Kardashian – then 33-years-old – hosted a dinner for her girlfriends at the post Hôtel Costes on Rue Saint-Honoré in the upscale 1st arrondissement in Paris. The property – usually teeming with models and celebrities and completely booked out the haute couture fashion week set each season – was set aside for Kardashian, her friends and Kylie Jenner’s blue hair. (Never forget.)
“You can wear this one day with your blue hair,” Kardashian told Jenner, referring to the powder-blue, pearl-embellished Balmain dress she had pulled from Olivier Rousteing’s treasure trove. Estimated to be worth $20,000, the dress was part of the French house’s Fabergé egg-inspired fall 2012 collection – the second runway offering from Rousteing at the time.
(Unlike her second bachelorette party held in a nightclub in Las Vegas ahead of her wedding to Kris Humphries in 2011, Kardashian was free of all that pre-nuptial garb this time around and was decidedly more sophisticated. Rousteing even came to Kardashian’s hotel to personally dress her. No word on who applied all the body shimmer.)
After dinner, the group went against protocol and ran around the streets of Paris – followed by an over-excited pack of paparazzi – as they visited the Louvre Museum and the Eiffel Tower.
Take a look at the footage below. You just wouldn’t see Kardashian doing this these days, especially since the infamous robbery a couple of years later.
What an incredible night and the perfect bachelorette party!
