Kim Kardashian had returned to the US and been reunited with Kanye West in New York after being robbed at gun point in a private apartment in Paris.

In the early hours of Monday local time, a group of thieves disguised as policemen made their way into Kim’s apartment, put a gun to her head and bound and gagged her before making off with around $10 million in jewellery, and it appears her precious 15-carat Lorraine Schwarz engagement ring might have been among the valuables stolen.

Kim’s finger is bare in photos of her arriving in New York. She was also not wearing the ‘second engagement ring’ Kanye gifted his wife in August, another Lorraine Schwarz number believed to be 20 carats and worth around USD $4 million. Just days ago Kim posted a photo of herself wearing the enormous rock on Instagram.

Kim was wearing one of the major sparklers in the last Snapchat she posted just hours before the robbery. After sharing the video, she went out to dinner with friends. Soon after she returned home the criminals gained access to the luxury building and took her hostage while they ransacked the room. Her long-time bodyguard Pascal Duvier was not with her – photos show him shadowing Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian to a nightclub.

A spokesperson for Kim released a statement saying she was “badly shaken but physically unharmed,” and she left France on a private jet within hours.

Two smartphones were also taken during the robbery, which could contain sensitive information about her travel plans, bank accounts and personal details about anyone she’s been in touch with. It’s not known what level of security she had on the devices, but data on her phone could prove even more valuable than the jewels if it finds its way into the wrong hands.

No members of the Kardashian family have commented on the incident.
