If you’re anything like us and happen to be back in an office after working remotely amid the pandemic, the realities of dressing for summer and frigid AC temps has probably been an issue you faced getting ready in the mornings, especially during the current heat wave in New York City and Europe. But leave it to actress Katie Holmes and her street style prowess to deliver just the sort of outfit inspiration we need.
Temperatures may have reached 90-degrees in N.Y.C. on Wednesday, but that didn’t stop Holmes from wearing a knit tank dress with matching poncho worn like a shawl as she arrived to Good Morning America to promote her new film, Alone Together. She chose a striped tank dress from Chloé and sported the coordinating blanket topper and platform Nama sneakers also by the brand as she made her way from the car to the studio. She stuck to the more summery look on-air wearing just the dress (and her new nose piercing in tact).
She was on-hand to discuss her new film, which she directed, wrote and stars in. It follows her character’s stay upstate amid the start of the pandemic, where she finds her accommodations double booked by a recently-single man.
This isn’t the first time the actress has sported summery knitwear this season. Earlier this summer she stepped out with her new boyfriend Bobby Wooten III at Tribeca Film Festival in New York in a white crochet dress (also by Gabriela Hearst for Chloé) which revealed a lace bra and her belly button.
Judging by her outfits alone, the actress seems to be wishing for fall weather based on the other two looks she sported during her press tour on Wednesday. (Reminder, it was a 90-degree-day in the city.) She was also photographed in a collared white button-down blouse worn with blue jeans and the same Chloé Nama sneakers, in a look that gives strong back-to-school vibes. (Who else would have worn this on the first day of school?)
For her third look of the day, she stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers looking prim and proper in a black turtleneck long-sleeve sweater with a pencil skirt (another Gabriela Hearst design for Chloé) and her hair worn in a chic updo, evoking a look more fit for a teacher’s first day back in the classroom.
