Actress Katie Holmes and Broadway musician Bobby Wooten III made their official red carpet debut (after about a month after first being spotted together) on Thursday at The Silver Ball celebrating The Moth’s 25th Anniversary Gala in the Big Apple. As a presenter, Wooten honored Talking Heads icon David Byrne with the Storyteller of the Year Award.

Invited as Wooten’s date for the evening, Holmes sported a melon colored, pleated Jonathan Simkhai dress from the brand’s Pre-Spring 2022 collection, worn with kitten heel sandals and a small metallic handbag. Wooten came dressed to impress in a dark teal suit with a black dress shirt beneath, a matching black pocket square, and black dress shoes.

“I’m happy to have [Katie] here as my date,” Bobby told Us Weekly at the gala.

Rumors of their relationship began swirling when Holmes was spotted holding hands and kissing Wooten on April 29 in New York City’s Central Park, where they met up with her mother during the outing, People reported.

As a bass player in Broadway productions, Wooten has performed in David Byrne’s American Utopia (where he also sang and danced) and in Moulin Rouge! The Musical (where he currently plays). The Grammy Award-nominee performed with Carly Rae Jepsen at Coachella and has worked with artists like Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Hudson, while Holmes has been busy with professional endeavors of her own.

The actress has recently wrote, directed, and starred in the forthcoming film Alone Together, which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this June.

We’re ready for more red carpet appearances from the happy couple!
