Holmes, who has unexpectedly emerged as a fashion icon in the last 12 months, paired the sandals (a favorite among the Instagram influencer crowd) with a so-called ‘Canadian tuxedo’—denim jeans with a denim shirt.
The so-called ‘New Bottega’ effect has taken off in the two years since Céline alum Daniel Lee took over as the storied Italian fashion house’s creative director. Lee’s footwear in particular has become a favorite of in-the-know fashion insiders, beloved by everyone from Julia Sarr-Jamois to Pernille Teisbaek and Rosie-Huntington Whiteley. And according to Lyst, Bottega’s hype hasn’t dulled one drop during lockdown—in fact, e-commerce sales have tripled since the beginning of the year.
