Katie Holmes remains undefeated in the style department. On Monday evening, the actress stepped out in New York City to celebrate a special screening of her new film, Rare Objects at the Crosby Street Hotel.

The Dawson’s Creek alum chose a slinky dress from INTERIOR’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection with a shimmering metallic mesh overlay, an asymmetrical hemline and red ribboned fringe on the sides. The star styled her ensemble with a single-breasted black blazer jacket, sheer black stockings and silver strappy sandals.

Holmes accessorized with long silver earrings, a Vacheron Constantin watch and her nose ring. The Wanderers star sported a soft smokey eye, mile-long lashes and an eye-popping cherry red lip while wearing her brunette tresses in a messy high bun, with two tendrils framing her face.

Rare Objects marks Holmes’ fifth directorial endeavor. The actress previously directed the short film Eternal Princess in 2015, All We Had in 2016, an episode of the miniseries The Kennedys After Camelot in 2017 and the movie Alone Together in 2022.

Holmes also co-wrote, produced and starred in the film as well. The star expressed her gratitude for working with production designer Michael Fitzgerld in an Instagram post writing, “Thank you @michaelfitzpd for our seven year journey of creating Rare Objects together,” she wrote. “You are the most amazing friend and production designer and collaborator. I am so proud to continue creating together! Rare Objects in theaters and on demand this Friday, April 14!!!!!!!”

Based on Kathleen Tessaro’s 2016 novel of the same name, Rare Objects is “a film about friendship, resilience, truth and beauty,” according to Holmes. The book is a piece of historical fiction, set in Depression-era Boston where unlikely friends are bound by a dangerous secret.

Holmes will star alongside Alan Cumming, Derek Luke, Julia Mayorga, Saundra Santiago and more.

Rare Objects hits theaters on April 14.
