There has been an outpouring of support from the public and world leaders following the announcement that Catherine, Princess of Wales, is undergoing treatment for cancer.

The news, which came today, March 22, was made in a pre-recorded video message from Windsor Castle. While the specific type of cancer was not disclosed, the Princess revealed she is undergoing chemotherapy.

“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you personally, for all the messages of support and for your understanding while I’ve been recovering from surgery,” she said in the message. “It’s been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team that has been taking care of me for which I am so grateful.”
