Fret not, dear readers. The enigma that is the Princess Of Wales has shown signs of life. Kate Middleton, who has been recovering from “planned abdominal surgery”—and who was not seen in public from December until just this week—has been keeping up to date with her work.

According to the Telegraph in the UK, “the Princess has been kept updated” on a 10-month study commissioned and funded by her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. In it, tests were made on the feasibility of a behavioural observational tool for infants.

While netizens have dramatically ventured down many a rabbit hole concerning Middleton’s whereabouts—and even brought Rose Hanbury into it—it was the Royal’s apparent editing skills that landed The Firm in so much hot water that even Princess Diana’s brother was weighing in on what might be wrong with the Princess.

“I do worry about what happened to the truth,” Charles Spencer told the BBCs Laura Kuenssberg, adding that he sees a parallel between Middleton’s experience with that of his late sister’s.

While the Palace has always maintained that Middleton won’t likely return to her duties until after Easter, a lack of transparency post the release of the heavily edited image has only inflamed online conspiracy theories. This tiny skerrick of an update fans a few fires, however, in the same way last week’s spotting at a local farm shop in Windsor did. For those who believed it to be Middleton, anyway.

More to come.
