Kacey Musgraves chose an illuminating, Y2K-inspired look to ring in her 34th birthday. The “Golden Hour” singer took to her Instagram to show off her birthday outfit, while celebrating with friends in Osaka, Japan.
After performing in shows over the weekend, Musgraves shared several photos of her night on her Instagram Stories with a Y2K-esque filter to match her early aughts look. For her special day, she wore a bodycon halter corset dress covered with a butterfly print (cue her song, “Butterflies”). But despite the on-brand motif, the standout part of her look was definitely her birthday hairdo.
Musgrave’s shined bright (quite literally) with multi-colored lights adorning small baby braids in her hair. She captioned one of her IG Stories, “threaded actual lights in my hair,” while tagging her hairstyle Giovanni Delgado.
She posted a few more photos, thanking her glam squad, or as she refers to them as her “glamilia,” for the stunning look. Musgraves continued her birthday with a night out in the city and even tried fried crickets, that she claimed “taste like fried chickpeas.”
The musician’s birthday getaway comes at a perfect time, after pulling a busy tour schedule and working on her rendition of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley for the newly released Elvis movie.
