Julia Roberts has been out and about during her recent promo tour for her new Starz series, Gaslit, and she’s been sticking to one common thread with her press looks — lots of standout suits. And they’re not just your average two-piece blazer-and-pants combos, she’s kicking it up a notch by bringing a playful, springtime approach to her outfits. For the series premiere, she shook things up with a Gucci shorts set, then kept the colorful suit trend celebrities have been loving going with her daffodil yellow ensemble, and brought out some vintage, too, in a heart-adorned Moschino suit.
The actress arrived to the Gaslit New York City premiere, alongside her costars, Sean Penn, Dan Stephens and Betty Gilpin, in a Gucci Love Parade three-piece suit. She wore a black and gray double breasted jacket, with a coordinating checkered vest, a pale blue dress shirt underneath, and teamed it with wool linen check shorts.
Roberts’ trusted stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, accessorized the look with Chopard jewels and pointy-toe black pumps.
On the same day, Roberts made her way to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, in a “butter yellow” suit, as Stewart put it on Instagram, wearing a custom Lafayette 148 New York, with a blazer featuring silk covered buttons, wide-leg cropped pants and a matching button-down shirt in the same “wildflower yellow” hue. Roberts paired it with heeled shoes by The Office of Angela Scott.
“Feelin’ chill like a daffodil 🌼,” Stewart captioned her social media post.
For the actual taping, she swapped into a different suit — a black vintage Moschino look, featuring red trim around the wrists, red heart-shaped buttons, and red piping down the pant leg.
Gaslit follows Roberts’ character, Martha Mitchell, the wife of Richard Nixon’s attorney general, John Mitchell, played by Sean Penn, who blows the whistle on Nixon’s infamous Watergate scandal.
Gaslit premieres on Starz on April 24.
