Jennifer Lopez knows how to dress for the occasion. The multi-hyphenate superstar brought in the New Year wearing a festive and fabulous gown — complete with the celebratory gold “2023” glasses!
Lopez shared an Instagram Reel from her glam night-in on New Year’s Eve wearing the perfect elegant party dress. The look featured a plunging red halter-neck top and a black floor-length skirt with a ribbon belt emblazoned with a green jeweled brooch at her waist. And she accessorized with some obligatory “2023” glasses.
The Instagram Reel was set to the tune of Ella Fitzgerald’s “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” with the caption, “HAPPY NEW YEAR! // ¡FELIZ AÑO NUEVO!”
In the clip, Lopez sipped a drink from a champagne coupe and shared a snapshot of all of her New Year’s Eve-ready accessories including a gold “Happy New Year” party whistle, her drink, and a cupcake reading “2023.” (Many fans have hysterically commented that the “3” closely resembles an “8.”)
This year, Lopez and her new husband Ben Affleck celebrated their first Christmas together as a married couple — an occasion Lopez documented both on Instagram and via her exclusive newsletter, On The JLo.
The songstress explained that her theme for the season was the Hummingbird: “I like to create a theme for every holiday. I wrote a song called ‘Hummingbird’ for my new album; This Is Me … Now. To me, hummingbirds are messengers of love. They’re very agile—can fly forward, backward, and up and down. They’re also the fastest bird but they always have time to stop, eat something sweet and smell the roses. I identify with them, but more than anything, whenever I see one, I feel like it’s a sign from God that everything is going to be OK.”
On Christmas day, Lopez wore a turquoise blue silk mini dress with red bows, a white collar and cuffs and a ruffled waist detailing, teamed with crimson platform pumps. The actress styled her caramel strands slicked back into a tight bun, added a statement red lip and accessorized with a pair of daisy stud earrings. She enjoyed a meal with her blended family which includes Lopez’s twins Emme, 14, and Maximilian, 14, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Affleck’s three children whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 17, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.
