Jennifer Lopez

It was a big year for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck — they remarried (first in Vegas and then at the Affleck family home in Riceboro, Georgia. They honeymooned in Paris, then Italy, and basically made all of us believe in real love.

The newlyweds also celebrated their first Christmas together as husband and wife, an occasion Lopez documented both on Instagram and via her exclusive newsletter, On The JLo.

The singer explained that her theme for the season was Hummingbird: “I like to create a theme for every holiday. I wrote a song called ‘Hummingbird’ for my new album, This Is Me … Now. To me, hummingbirds are messengers of love. They’re very agile—can fly forward, backward, and up and down. They’re also the fastest bird but they always have time to stop, eat something sweet and smell the roses. I identify with them, but more than anything, whenever I see one, I feel like it’s a sign from God that everything is going to be OK.”

She started the festivities with a holiday party for which she wore a sequin Gucci dress. As per her newsletter, she bought the number earlier in the year and was saving it for a special occasion (and we can see why).

On the 25th, she changed into a blue silk dress with red bows (the designer is TBC, but it does look a little bit like Alessandra Rich) for a meal with her blended family: her and husband Ben, and their children (Lopez has twins Emme and Max whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Ben has three children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner).

She finished off the newsletter with a few of her “favorite things,” including Hermès blankets, Le Labo candle discovery sets and hats by Nick Fouquet.

Overall it seemed like the perfect day, and a special way to celebrate their first (and long-overdue) Christmas as the Afflecks.
