A year after rekindling their romance, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck officially tied the knot! Lopez confirmed the happy news on her blog, On the JLo, where she detailed their fairytale Las Vegas wedding.

“Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” Lopez wrote of their July 16 nuptials. “We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed).”

Sticking with the whirlwind setting of the wedding, the couple wore a “dress from an old movie” and a jacket from Affleck’s closet. In photos shared with the post, Lopez wore two looks: a sleeveless A-line white dress, and a second off-the-shoulder long-sleeve white lace wedding dress from Zuhair Murad with a sweetheart-style neckline and corset bodice.

Lopez wrote, “But in the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.”

She concluded the post by reflecting on their journey. “They were right when they said, ‘all you need is love.’ We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to. Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at twelve thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for.”

She signed her note with her new name, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck, and shared a selfie from bed on Instagram promoting the post, with her new silver wedding band on her ring finger.

After getting engaged (for the second time) in April 2022, the two wasted no time making things official. In late May a source told Entertainment Tonight that they wanted to “get married soon” and were discussing a destination or “tropical” ceremony. (Perhaps they were inspired by Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s Las Vegas ceremony?)

Lopez and Affleck were previously engaged in 2002 and were set to wed in September 2003, before postponing their nuptials. They later ended their engagement in January 2004, but remained friends through the years. The two sent the internet spiraling in July 2021 when they went Instagram official in a series of photos commemorating the singer’s 52nd birthday on board a yacht.

They made things red carpet official at the Venice Film Festival in September 2021 and got engaged for the second time in April of this year. Affleck popped the question with a whopping green diamond engagement ring (representing the actress’ “lucky color”), and Lopez shared details about the romantic proposal in her newsletter, On the JLo, with the hashtag #HowItWentDown.

“Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed,” she wrote. “I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said YES of course that’s a YES.”

“I was smiling so big and tears were coming down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole,” Lopez said. “It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could’ve ever imagined…just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other.”

Lopez shares twins Emme and Max, 14, with ex-husband Marc Anthony (the pair were married from 2004 to 2011, and their divorce was finalized in 2014), while Affleck shares three children with his ex, Jennifer Garner — Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13 and Samuel, 10.

On Father’s Day, Lopez praised Affleck calling him “the most caring, loving, affectionate, consistent and selfless Daddy ever.” She went on to say this is the “best time” of her life. Adding, “I love my career but nothing is more fulfilling to me than being able to build a family with someone who I love deeply and who is just as dedicated to family and to each other as we can be. I feel incredible blessed.”

Here’s to the happy couple!
