Jennifer Coolidge snagged her first-ever nomination and win at the 2022 Emmy Awards for outstanding supporting actress in a limited series or movie thanks to her role as Tanya McQuoid in the HBO Max hit series The White Lotus.
“Wow, thank you. Gosh, what a night,” said Coolidge. “To my fellow nominees, just to be in your company, it’s incredible.”
Before she thanked producers, she cued in viewers about how she felt in her curve-hugging dress. “I just want to say I took a lavender bath tonight right before the show and it made me swell up inside my dress and I’m having a hard time speaking, honestly.”
Coolidge tried to pause the cut off music saying, “Wait, hold on. This is a once in a lifetime thing and I’m full. I’m full!” she said while pointing to her dress. She tried to thank more people before she just started dancing to the send-off music instead.
The Legally Blonde actress was dressed in a classic bombshell look in a shimmering emerald green and gold off-the-shoulder form-fitting brocade gown, with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, including 150-carat emerald and diamond earrings, a 25-carat yellow diamond bracelet, 23-carat emerald ring and 15-carat yellow diamond ring.
The White Lotus show-runner Mike White took home two Emmys for outstanding directing and outstanding writing for a limited or anthology series or movie. Co-star Murray Bartlett also won for outstanding supporting actor in a limited series.
The series’ second season is set to feature a brand new cast, but luckily for us, Coolidge will be returning. Watch this space for updates on season 2.
