Jason Sudeikis has opened up on his shocking split from Olivia Wilde, admitting that he has yet to fully understand the decision. The pair were together for nine years and have two children but they announced their split in 2020; months later she was pictured with Harry Styles.

“I’ll have a better understanding of why in a year and an even better one in two, and an even greater one in five, and it’ll go from being, you know, a book of my life to becoming a chapter to a paragraph to a line to a word to a doodle,” the Ted Lasso star shared in a new interview.

“That’s an experience that you either learn from or make excuses about. You take some responsibility for it, hold yourself accountable for what you do, but then also endeavor to learn something beyond the obvious from it.”

Speaking to GQ, the 45-year-old also shared his outlook on hitting rock bottom, joking that he has “chosen to land like an Avenger”.

“I think if you have the opportunity to hit a rock-bottom, however you define that, you can become 412 bones or you can land like an Avenger,” he said. “I personally have chosen to land like an Avenger.”

Olivia, 37, and former One Direction star Harry began dating in November 2020 while working on Wilde’s upcoming film, Don’t Worry Darling, in Los Angeles.

They were pictured arm-in-arm at a friend’s wedding in late 2020, and have since been pictured in the UK and Italy – dancing on a yacht, of course – where Harry is filming a new movie.

Jason is now thought to be dating model Keeley Hazell but has yet to speak publicly about her. The actor was nominated on Tuesday for a best actor Emmy for his work in the Apple+ TV series Ted Lasso. The series has 20 nominations in total.
