According to a report published by WWD, Jacquemus is set to launch a beauty line.

The French label — helmed by Simon Porte Jacquemus — is allegedly teaming up with Puig to enter the category in 2022. The Spanish beauty conglomerate is also behind fragrance houses like Paco Rabanne, Carolina Herrera, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Dries Van Noten, Penhaligon’s, L’Artisan Parfumeur, Christian Louboutin and Comme des Garçons Parfums’.

While there’s no information yet about what the line will include (or even an official confirmation from the brand) we’re guessing that given Puig’s major stake in fragrance, a Jacquemus eau de parfum could be on the cards.

Founded in 2009, Jacquemus has soared to an unprecedented level of fashion fame in what is a relatively short period of time. With almost four million Instagram followers and countless celebrity fans (Bella, Gigi, Kendall, Dua and Kylie among them), the designer has sold us not just clothing but an entire lifestyle — one characterized by turquoise European beaches, sprawling lavender fields, hot girl baguettes, provencal farmers markets, hazy summers and micro outfits in poppy shades of fuchsia, tangerine and butter.

So while fragrance seems the obvious choice, a Jacquemus makeup line is a pretty exciting prospect. Sunburnt shades of cream blush, french girl lip tints, glossy highlighters and matte Earthy shadows wouldn’t seem amiss — if anything, they’d just fill an existing gap in the Jacquemus aesthetic.

It’s also not the designers first cross-category endeavour. There’s French restaurants Oursin and Citron, a ceramics diffusion line and a pop-up Parisian flower shop that operated during the pandemic (complete with rustic bouquets wrapped in textile scraps).

Regardless, whatever Simon touches turns to covetable (and Instagrammable) gold, and the upcoming beauty launch is sure to be no different.
