Welcome back, Harry Potter! Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint all reunited in HBO Max’s new trailer for the upcoming HBO Max reunion special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.
“It feels like no time has passed,” Watson, 31, gushes in the introduction scene, where she is seen entering the castle and hugging Tom Felton, 34. “And loads of time has passed.”
“I think this is the perfect time to sit down with everyone and reminisce,” Grint says.
Radcliffe adds: “The thing that scared me the most was the implication that the most meaningful thing in our life was done and there is something so joyous about seeing everyone and be like, ‘It wasn’t, though.'”
Ralph Fiennes — who played villain Voldemort in the films — makes an appearance as well. “My sister has children who are around 10, 11, 12, and I said, ‘Martha, I don’t know about this Voldemort.’ And she said, ‘What? You have been asked to play Voldemort?’ You’ve got to do it!”
Even though Radcliffe has starred in other films and TV shows, he declares: “I wouldn’t be the person I am without so many people here.”
“I’ve watched you grow up and I’ve seen every stage of your life,” Grint adds.
“When things get really dark and times are really hard, there is something about Harry Potter that makes life richer,” Watson exclaims.
The red-headed hunk couldn’t have said nicer things about his costars. “It’s a strong bond we all have. We’re family. We’ll always be a part of each other’s lives,” he shares.
Last month, the special was announced. “There’s magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago. The excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a very special and personal journey, through the making of these incredible films,” executive producer Casey Patterson said in a statement.
In addition to the main stars, Toby Jones, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, David Yates and many others will make cameos in the upcoming reunion.
