Elon Musk has confirmed to Page Six that he and singer Grimes have chosen to become “semi-seperated” after rumors started popping up as she attended the Met Gala red carpet alone. It struck the internet as odd, seeing as the two had previously walked the Met Gala together in 2018.

Musk confirmed that they will continue to co-parent their child, X Æ A-Xii Musk, as the two are still currently living together amidst their separation.

“[Grimes and I] are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,” Musk said in a statement. “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”

Grimes has been busy in Los Angeles filming a new singing competition show Alter Ego, in which she is a judge.
