As winter descends upon New York City, the red carpet is unfurled once again for the 34th annual Gotham Film Awards. Held at the iconic Cipriani Wall Street, the evening officially initiates the months-long awards season, which sees the year in film and television celebrated. This year’s ceremony recognises a host of fresh talent and cinematic accomplishments across 39 feature films and 25 standout performances.

Leading the pack with nominations is Sean Baker’s Palme d’Or-winner Anora (which is still in cinemas), alongside celebrated features like Luca Guadagnino‘s Challengers and RaMell Ross’ Nickel Boys. Performances by Demi Moore (The Substance) and Nicole Kidman (Babygirl) are also included in the star-studded lineup. The evening will also pay tribute to industry luminaries such as Zendaya, Angelina Jolie, Timothée Chalamet, and Dune director Denis Villeneuve, among others, who will receive special honours.
