She might be nominated for her performance in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn at the Golden Globes 2024 but English actress Rosamund Pike seems to be gunning for another title: Britain’s Most Eccentric Posh Lady.
Move over Tilda Swinton and take a seat Helena Bonham-Carter because Pike, 44, is coming for you.
For tonight’s red carpet, Pike turned to the one Maison that perfectly balances off-kilter couture with theatrical drama: Christian Dior. Specifically vintage Dior Couture according to Pike, from the 2019 collection.

The strapless black lace dress featured intricately worked flowers over the body to create a lush yet structured textural surface. This was paired with a Swiss dot overlay across the upper body featuring additional floral detail. But it’s matching black lace veil that has truly captured the moment.
An original Philip Treacy design and fanning out across both sides of the actress’s face, the artful accessory looks like it could have been pulled straight out of the wardrobe department for the final party scene in Saltburn. “Well, you just have to channel, it don’t you,” Pike said of the look. “Either this weird funeral vibe or maybe she wore black to her wedding.”
Both options feel correct, to be honest.
According to reports, however, Pike opted for the eye-catching headwear after suffering a tumble while skiing recently.
“It’s a protective veil for the occasion,” explained Pike. “I had an accident over Christmas… Not what you want knowing you’re coming to the Golden Globes.”
Adding to the drama was Boucheron jewellery – an intricate floral-motif diamond ring and white gold ear-cuff.
While most of the discourse around Saltburn has been on the thirstier side and directed toward the two male leads Jacob Elordi and Barry Keoghan, Pike’s performance as cold aristocrat Elspeth Catton has been praised for owning some of the best lines of the movie, stealing every scene she is in. No small feat when you consider the folks she was sharing her screen time with.
