Fresh from a stunning appearance on the 2024 Met Gala red carpet in a custom Thom Browne look, Gigi Hadid has taken to the streets of NYC in another noteworthy look, taking cues from a bygone era in fashion.

Though trends of the 2000s can (understandably) frighten many millennials, the supermodel has served up a masterclass on how to elevate Y2K aesthetics, bringing the controversial outfit formula of ‘dresses over jeans’ back onto our radars.

Darting quickly from a car into a meeting, the Guest In Residence founder was snapped wearing the ‘Showtime’ dress from her knitwear label, which features a longline button-down silhouette with a shirt collar. The soft jersey dress was worn open, with only a few buttons fastened at the waist, and styled over wide-leg jeans and a green snake-print belt. The relaxed fit of her denim and the button feature of the dress give this look a modern edge that we can certainly get on board with.

She complimented the creamy hue of her dress with a blush-toned Miu Miu mini bag, brown cat-eye sunglasses, and a mix of gold and silver rings and necklaces. For footwear, Hadid opted for a statement stiletto with mesh and gemstone detailing.

Hadid isn’t the only one endorsing this retro look in Hollywood, though.

Back in December, Katie Holmes had fans double-taking the date when she arrived at the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball looking as youthful as ever in a strapless mini dress worn over loose denim.
