When Euphoria finally returns for its long-awaited second season, expect to see some new faces. HBO’s provocative drama about troubled teens has cast Minka Kelly, Dominic Fike and Demetrius Flenory Jr., a.k.a. Lil Meech.

“Appreciate The Opportunity!! @euphoria (Actually One Of My Favorite Shows In Real Life) I Had An Amazing Experience On This Extraordinary Show And Love The Cast And Crew,” Flenory wrote on Instagram after Deadline announced the castings. “Euphoria Season 2 Coming Soon.”

We don’t know much about Kelly or Flenory’s roles yet, but Fike recently teased some details about his character. In an interview with Variety, the singer-songwriter described his character as a friend of Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer) with whom he shares a lot of similarities. “I don’t have to do much acting,” Fike told the trade magazine. “He’s exactly like me. It’s sh*t I would say and sh*t I would do.” The first-time actor also described filming Euphoria as feeling “like a long music video.”

Creator Sam Levinson’s polarizing series premiered in June 2019 and was renewed by HBO a month later. But Season 2 has been delayed extensively due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In December and January, HBO aired a pair of specials focused on Rue and Jules respectively to bridge the gap between the seasons.

Last month, Zendaya gave an indication of what we can expect from Season 2. “It’s definitely challenging, it’s a challenging season. It’s gonna be hard and it’s gonna be devastating sometimes,” she told Teen Vogue. She went on to explain the care she and Levinson are taking with her character. “I think she represents a lot for so many people. And I hope to make those people proud with our depictions of Rue… I think this season’s not going to be easy, though. It’s not going to be a fun watch, I don’t think.”
