Romantic floral prints and whimsical ruffles have always been quintessential ERDEM and the reasons fans Madonna to Kate Middleton can’t get enough of the British label. Now, after curating a loyal community around his womenswear collections designer, Erdem Moralioğlu is expanding his wings into menswear, or as he puts it, genderless designs for Spring 2022.

“I have always had this idea of the ERDEM man in my head, and it’s something I have always wanted to do….” Moralioğlu reveals to GRAZIA, “I’d see the men from the team in the studio wearing pieces from womenswear, so the menswear collection really evolved from the women’s collection — there is a real, beautiful sense of fluidity between the two, and I can see as many women in the men’s collection as men… The last year has given me the time and space I needed to really focus on it.”

Compared to the ultra-feminine silhouettes of his womenswear collections, Moralioğlu takes a sleek and minimal approach to the menswear assortment. “The boundaries between womenswear and menswear are evermore fluid and exciting” he adds. The collection has a wide range rooted in English inspiration: boiler suits, mohair jumpers, striped cardigans, velvety corduroys and chinos in faded olive and powdery blues, and collarless button-down shirts. Naturally, Moralioğlu incorporated florals that have become synonymous with the brand by adding the print on cotton and jacquard knitted tank tops.
