Actress Camila Morrone has arrived at the 75th annual Emmy Awards in downtown Los Angeles. In what should have been a slow-motion capture, the 26-year-old Daisy Jones & The Six star took out photographers in a floor-length, scarlet red gown by Versace—its scoop neck resembling Pamela Anderson and Yasmine Bleeth’s famous red swimsuits from Baywatch circa the mid-90s.
Morrone, who is nominated for an Emmy this evening in the Best Supporting Actress In A Limited Series Or TV Movie category, completed the red hot look with a bombshell blowout, a dramatic follow-up to the 60s-twist she put on her classic Chanel gown at yesterday’s Critics Choice Awards. Celebrity makeup artist Mary Phillips (known for her strict instruction on contour before foundation) is painting Morrone’s face again today.
Despite her polished looks on recent carpets, the actress says she dressed down to Daisy Jones audition for the role of, er, Camila—Camila Dunne, that is —a photographer and wife to Billy Dunne (played by Sam Claflin), the co–lead singer and guitarist for the fictitious Six.
“I tried to do my best hippie-dippie, Laurel Canyon Earth mother, so I was barefoot in the audition,” Morrone recently told W magazine. “I was wearing bell-bottoms, and my mom had this vintage, beautiful Ali MacGraw T-shirt. I pulled a lot of inspiration from Ali MacGraw, and I had this loose, wavy hair.”
Morrone’s Daisy Jones co-star Riley Keough, also nominated this evening for Best Actress. Best of luck to both women!
