Leonardo DiCaprio has many exes walking red carpets. But for the first time since splitting in August last year, he and Camila Morrone found themselves face-to-face again for the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.
The charity fundraiser, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, aims to raise funds for the museum’s exhibitions and public programming. A wealth of Hollywood’s elite stepped out for the event, each donning their best for the ‘Met Gala of the West’.
But deciding what to wear to a prestigious gala is hard enough, let alone when you throw in the ex-factor.
For the occasion, we must say that both parties nailed the brief.
Morrone was a vision in white in a strapless tea-length dress from Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2022 Couture collection. She kept accessories to a minimum, with diamond chandelier earrings and black Mary-Jane pumps.
DiCaprio wasn’t taking any risks but still looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo and white shirt.
There was a time when the world believed the perennially single DiCaprio had found his match in Miss Morrone. A budding actress and model whose mother was a longtime partner of Al Pacino, a pal of the Titanic star, Morrone seemed to connect with DiCaprio on a different level. And amid a sea of flings with Victoria’s Secret models, it became his longest-standing relationship.
It was not without controversy, though. The two shied away from the public eye but were subject to much criticism due to their staggering 23-year age gap.
In August of 2022, after four years together, the couple broke up just after Morrone’s 25th birthday. DiCaprio briefly moved on to her friend Gigi Hadid but is now dating another model, Vittoria Ceretti, who is, you guessed it, 25.
