I live for a denim-on-denim look. I’ve said before that my go-to outfit is a Canadian tuxedo. This season, I’ve decided to take my love of all-things jean a step further. I am currently obsessed with denim shoes and I’m going to let you know why you should be too.
First of all, the fabric gives an instant cool factor. For example, take a pair of simple ballet flats. They’re classic and safe. Now, throw on a pair of denim ballet flats — it’s giving elevated, fashion-forward, risk-taking, all while wearing a standard shoe style. This also works the other way around, a sexy pair of knee-high stiletto boots are pretty dressy — for the daytime, try a denim pair. The fabric gives the otherwise sultry silhouette a more laidback feel.
Still not sold? Don’t worry, below are denim shoes ranging from flats to mules that’ll prove my point.
Denim-Duty
Now that ballet flats have had their official resurgence Mary Janes are up next. The dark-wash denim elevates the little-girl shoe into a fashion-forward must-have.
I love a clog. The polarizing shoe got the denim treatment courtesy of ALAÏA so you know it’s cool.
The crystal accents give these shoes a more dressed-up feel.
Knee-high stiletto boots are often a very sexy choice of footwear. This denim pair actually relaxes the silhouette and makes the shoe feel a bit more casual.
The denim mixed with the chunky silver hardware give these slip-ons the ultimate edge.
Logomania meets all-over denim.
It doesn’t get more classic than a pair of Repetto ballet flats. If you are a bit more fashion-forward than classic black, try a denim pair!
