Dakota Johnson just stepped out in New York City in not one, not two, but four sharp suiting looks to kick off her latest press tour for her new film, Cha Cha Real Smooth.

On Tuesday, she wore a monochromatic cream ensemble in a high-waisted slinky skirt, a crochet bralette top, and an oversize blazer. Johnson wore her hair down and blown out, simply accessorizing her look with oversized square-frame sunnies, matching Larroudé mules and multiple rings.

Her next look came for an appearance at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Johnson rocked a dapper black velvet Saint Laurent suit and tie and Jimmy Choo heels. (During her time on the show, the late night host dubbed Johnson the “Hollywood It Girl” and we have to agree!)

On Monday, she was seen heading to the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of Cha Cha Real Smooth, in a white single-breasted blazer minidress, featuring rhinestone-encrusted strappy back detailing by New York-based fashion label Area. With her hair twisted into a tidy bun, Johnson slipped into shimmering pointy-toe pumps while toting a black leather Jackie 1961 Gucci handbag.

She kicked off her whole suiting journey when she left her hotel Monday morning in a collarless black, double-breasted suit by Patou with gold buttons and tailored, wide-leg slacks. She teamed her look with black Jimmy Choo strappy sandals, oversize sunnies, and statement Patou copper earrings.

While speaking with her stylist last week, Kate Young told GRAZIA USA she was meeting with Johnson the next day for a fitting.

“With each [celebrity client], I try to make sure that there’s a narrative thread,” Young said. “I do have a mood board or a list of icons for each girl, and I try and make sure that the stuff I’m pulling fits within that world, that I don’t suddenly put some weird floral puffy dress on Dakota’s rack. It wouldn’t make sense. That’s not who she is. She’s sort of minimal and androgynous and then super over the top, with mostly bodycon [outfits]. It’s sleek, her look. So there’s not going to be a multi-tiered floral dress with puff sleeves. It’s not who she is.”

Johnson’s new film, Cha Cha Real Smooth (out June 17) tells the tale of a man who works as a Bar Mitzvah party host, and his friendship with a young woman (played by Dakota) and her teenage daughter. Johnson stars in the film with Everybody Loves Raymond‘s Brad Garrett and Johnson’s How to Be Single costar Leslie Mann.

She’s also starring in the Netflix film Persuasion (based on the Jane Austen novel) out July 15, and the highly anticipated trailer just dropped.

An adaptation of the 1817 novel, Johnson stars alongside Cosmo Jarvis, Henry Golding, Richard E. Grant, and Nikki Amuka-Bird, and breaks the forth wall the trailer in her portrayal of Anne Elliot.

We can’t wait to see what else Johnson and Young have to deliver in the fashion department for her next promo tour.
