Never in my life did I imagine that I’d be crushing on a chartreuse-colored coat. Beige? Absolutely. Red? Sign me up. In theory, yellow doesn’t sound super wearable, especially during the fall-winter months, when moody neutrals just feel like the right fit.
But my opinion changed drastically on Tuesday, December 1, when Demi Lovato did the damn thing: She snapped a series of photos and videos for Instagram wearing a bold chartreuse yellow feather-trimmed snakeskin print coat. The extravagant piece is from the NYC-based fashion label, LaPointe, known for its daring monochromatic palettes.
Los Angeles-based fashion stylist Siena Montesano brought the look to life. She teamed the eye-catching outerwear with a leopard print ensemble underneath, accessorized with hoop earrings, a Dolce & Gabbana handbag, and slim, rectangular sunglasses.
The rest of Lovato’s glam squad consisted of hairstylist Paul Norton and makeup artist Rokael Lizama. As perfect as her edgy new undercut and her defined features looked, the overall focal point is most definitely that epic chartreuse coat, which is straight off the designer’s Fall/Winter 2020-2021 runway.
Sally LaPointe wasn’t the only designer to debut yellow-green pieces. Recently, chartreuse also had a moment on the runways of Bottega Veneta, Ulla Johnson, and Salvatore Ferragamo. Models took to the catwalk in apparel and accessories in Lovato’s new favorite fall color.
