Known for whipping top-tier celebrities into shape, trainer Gunnar Peterson has worked with the likes of Rebel Wilson, the Kardashians, Tom Brady, Sofia Vergara, and many, many more. Now, he’s switching gears by adding another project to his plate in his new role as Chief of Athletics at the international fitness franchise F45 Training, with a specially-designed Gunnar Peterson workout rolling out across F45 Studios this month.

In keeping with F45 model of classes featuring circuit and HIIT style 45-minute workouts, the “F45 Gunnar Peterson Workout” consists of cardio, resistance agility, and core movements, for a complete, pyramid full-body exercise.

“I’ve been in fitness for 30 years, and the F45 class is like nothing I’ve ever seen. I looked at it and I thought, ‘These guys train the way I train,’ and the way I train has helped, not just me, but the people who work with me get results for years,” Peterson told GRAZIA USA. “My new role is awesome, and it is tailor-made.”

Working with sports scientists to curate the programming, Peterson is making recommendations for new equipment, and exploring the latest developments in sports science and workout efficacy, on top of still seeing his clients.

“Day-to-day life is busier, no question. But you learn to prioritize, and you get a lot more done than the average person does,” Peterson said of his new schedule. Jet-setting to London and Sydney, “there’s definitely a travel component that did not exist in my other life, let’s call it.”

Taking the lead as a premiere, global fitness enterprise, F45’s elite branch of classes is now making Peterson’s exclusive, celebrity-status training accessible to all. He’s guided the biggest stars through bulking up, trimming down, or preparing for a role, so Peterson’s truly seen it all. “If you have somebody training for an action role, most of them are going to do fight training anyway, but I might make sure that the movements we put together in my workouts are going to service that as well.”

Seeing actress Rebel Wilson through her recent wellness journey (she lost over 60 pounds), Peterson says, “she’s always been focused and dedicated, but she’s got so much momentum now that there’s no stopping her.” Adding, “She’s super fun to be around.”

“Steady, incremental bumps in intensity are far more effective, and easier to stick with than trying to add fifty percent,” said Peterson.
