Everyone knows it’s hard to make friends as an adult, so when you happen to find someone you click with by chance—even when that chance is due to both being invited as guests to a Dior show in Athens, Greece—it’s worth holding on to.
For Cara Delevingne, meeting Anya Taylor-Joy was one such moment.
Over the weekend, the model posted to Instagram in tribute to her new friendship with The Queen’s Gambit actress. In it, she joked about the pair wearing the same shoes to the fashion show and noting that Taylor-Joy is the kind of woman who’ll drop anything to help when it comes to a wardrobe malfunction, as all good friends should.
The post began with a clip of Taylor-Joy helping her fix Delevingne’s tangled pleated Dior dress before the pair posed for pictures together at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens. “Find friends that will tell you when you have something in your teeth and when you need it most, tell you things you may not want to hear,” Delevingne wrote. “Connection is the only way we can learn and grow so be the women that fixes another women’s crown (dress) instead of pointing out that it was crooked.”
The gallery also showed the two women holding hands while walking into the show and posing for photos together. Delevingne finished with an image of the pair’s matching shoes, writing, “Also wearing the same thing as someone else only means you have good taste… @anyataylorjoy @dior.”
Taylor-Joy commented on the post, writing simply, “Angel”, before later posting her own cute photo of herself with Delevingne. Paris Jackson commented, “I miss you guys, stunning as always.”
Delevingne went on to share more photos from her time in Greece, including videos from the runway show and close-up beauty shots from her getting ready beforehand.
“A magical night in Athens to be remembered forever,” she wrote. “Beyond grateful to be apart of the @dior family. Thank you to the whole Dior team who constantly work so hard and of course, @mariagraziachiuri who continues to inspire me on so many levels – as a woman and as an artist with a purpose.”
Meanwhile, Taylor-Joy posted a gallery showing two photos of herself on the red carpet and the third a photo of herself and Delevingne holding hands while walking around the venue.
“Merci @dior + @mariagraziachiuri for your hospitality, generosity and a beautiful show. We had a blast :),” she wrote.
