Playing it safe. While they aren’t planning to get married until 2022, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have reportedly already drawn up a prenuptial agreement.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple has agreed that they will leave the marriage “with what they put into it,” which includes assets and properties should they split up.  Fans may assume it is the 21-year-old who wants the prenup in order to protect his famous family, worth $450.64 million, but it’s actually his bride-to-be who would have more to lose. According to The Sun, the actress/model’s father has $1.48 billion in the bank and all of Peltz’s family members have prenups.

“Brooklyn and Nicola’s decision to go legal was entirely mutual. He’s had experiences of girls desperate to get in on the Beckham name so they’re delighted Nicola loves Brooklyn for him,” a source said. “And, of course, she doesn’t need his money and has her own successful career.”

The young couple, who have been dating since October 2019, announced their engagement in July. Beckham  proposed to the 25-year-old with an emerald-cut diamond ring which is thought to have cost over $200,000.

‘Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes xx I am the luckiest man in the world,” he captioned a pic on Instagram after he popped the question. “I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day. I love you baby xx’

The couple had their hearts set on tying the knot in September 2021 but postponed until 2022 as a precaution due to the coronavirus pandemic. When they do eventually tie the knot, Beckham’s brothers Romeo and Cruz will serve as his best men, his little sister Harper will be a bridesmaid and his dad David Beckham will be the “master of ceremonies.”

Victoria Beckham is also rumored to be designing a sleek and minimal wedding gown for Peltz after she previously designed her friend’s Eva Longoria’s wedding dress in 2016.
