Spring/Summer 2021 has finally arrived and who better to usher in the season than Brad Pitt in Brioni? The Italian couture house released its new campaign this week, captured by lauded photographer Mikael Jansson at the legendary Chateau Marmont in Hollywood.

Soft light peeps through the curtains of the cozy abode and is an intimate reflection of the Academy Award-winners idyllic surroundings. Pitt’s laidback nature and rugged, relaxed and timeless look is the epitome of Brioni – of course with a luxury twist. And perhaps Pitt’s connection with timelessness comes down to his effortless approach to aging.

“Personally I like aging,” he once said. “With age comes wisdom and I have said it before and I say it again, I will take wisdom over youth any day.”

From those long blond locks in 1994 (do yourself a favor and search it now!) to his clean buzz cut in 2004 and facial hair moment of 2009, Pitt has come a long way with his style. This latest partnership feels like a natural progression.

The campaign features two iconic pieces from the Brioni wardrobe: the “Vagabond” overshirt in double face cashmere and the feather-light silk blouson in washed silk. It is the perfect embodiment on the brand’s notion of refined simplicity and style.

The muted colors of the pieces are inspired by Rome and its light is reflected in the lightness of construction and ultra-soft and comfortable materials. The free-flowing conversations in the streets of the Eternal City have inspired silhouettes that are understated and elegant yet offer movement and fluidity, echoing subtle luxury and understated ease.

Brioni was founded in 1945 by Italian tailor Nazareno Fonticoli and entrepreneur Gaetano Savini. The brand held its first ever men’s fashion show in Florence’s Palazzo Pitti in 1952. Since then the house has been a formidable force in menswear.
