The holiday season is the last big hurrah for fashion companies in terms of sales. Many release elaborate campaigns and products like the Wes Anderson on a cinematic holiday campaign like Bergdorf Goodman or Swarovski taking over NYC to drag in shoppers for the gifting season. However, this year, the Italian label Bottega Veneta has decided to inundate the holiday rush differently. In a spirited act of service, Bottega Veneta has decided to remove all of its products and advertisement and shine a light on twelve selected Bottegas (Italian for boutiques) and their products for a project called, Bottega for Bottegas.

From Amalfi and Naples to Venice and Piedmont, the Milan-based brand celebrates Italy’s makers’ rich landscape by handing its platforms over to the bottegas — from advertising spaces and website, newsletters to and its very own shop shelves and windows. Walking into a Bottega Veneta store in Milan (Via Montenapoleone), Rome (Via dei Condotti), and Venice will look a little different this season. Each boutique will showcase produces such as ceramics from Enzo Fasano, mosaics from Orsoni, and even olive oil and pasta from bottegas Olio Vanini and Pastificio Martelli — when in Italy.

Online you’ll still be able to shop Bottega Veneta’s cult-favorite intrecciato Jodie pouch and cassette bag alongside experiencing what the local bottegas have to offer under a separate Bottega for Bottegas tab, which will be live throughout the remainder of the holiday season. The “Bottega for Bottegas” project is the beginning for the Italian heritage label in an effort to support extraordinary value and craftsmanship that embodies the very best of Italian creativity.

In a time when connecting with the local community and sharing their work has taken on a new importance, the Bottega for Bottegas project comes after Valentino decided to lend its Instagram platform to rising Italian designers earlier this month. At the same time, Gucci launched Gucci Vault, which gives space to emerging designers. Bottega Veneta wants to make it clear that this isn’t just a one-time campaign but that they stand side by side with their fellow small luxury bottegas. Every year moving forward, the label will celebrate other bottegas by giving them visibility.
