Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are both on board to revive their roles in a sequel to their 2018 comedy-thriller, A Simple Favor.

Deadline reported the news on Wednesday, citing A Simple Favor’s box office success, grossing over $97 million for Lionsgate.

Lionsgate and Amazon Studios are also bringing back Paul Feig in the director’s chair who is set to also produce the film alongside Laura Fischer. Jessica Sharzer will come back as screenwriter, and the follow-up will star the original leading ladies, Lively and Kendrick.

Based on Darcey Bell’s 2017 novel of the same name, the first film follows the widowed, single, mommy-vlogger Stephanie (portrayed by Kendrick), who befriends the mysterious, successful, and stylish Emily (Lively).

Endlessly seeking her cool new friend’s approval, Stephanie’s world is turned upside down when Emily suddenly disappears. Stephanie starts in her own investigation, launching viewers into a dramatic rollercoaster of unexpected twists and turns.

Also starring Henry Golding, Linda Cardellini, and Andrew Rannells, the crime thriller flick’s shocking end left room for a potential sequel.

While the upcoming sequel’s plot is still unknown, we’re left wondering, will Blake Lively do us a simple favor, and bring back her dapper Ralph Lauren tailored suiting as well? Or will we be seeing Lively’s character sporting in an orange jumpsuit instead? Stay tuned as more details emerge.
