NYFW certainly looked different this season. We already experienced a quarantined fashion week back in September, which technically should make us seasoned veterans for the Fall/Winter 2021 season. But this February, designers served us new experiences to showcase their best looks, proving that fashion really is always evolving.

The CFDA did away with the traditional NYFW calendar and replaced it with the American Collections Calendar, expanding NYFW beyond the seven days we’re familiar with, giving designers the freedom to choose when and where to show their collections. And without the constraints of time and place, designers got more creative on how to generate the excitement you get from seeing a new collection debut without actually being there to experience it. Carolina Herrera took us on a tour all over New York City with the FW2021 collection. The video was literally shot on a branded tour bus with the models dressed to the nines and in the snow no less! Khaite opted for a different type of experience too, inviting show goers to attend a drive-in movie where the collection was shown on the silver screen. And the cherry on top, the New York City skyline was the backdrop.

Regardless of how the collections were presented to us this season, we had a fashion week like no other from the comfort of our couch (and you’ll get no complaints here from watching virtually instead of going from show to show in snowstorms and freezing temperatures). And from that same couch, we’ve rounded up all the best looks from NYFW FW21. These stand out looks are worth noting because eventually we’ll be off the couch and out in the world again, and we need to make sure our our wardrobe is up to the challenge.
