The stars brought the razzle and dazzle and the glitz and glam to the New York Public Library on Thursday evening for the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s inaugural Albie Awards, hosted by actor George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.
The charitable affair honors brave defenders of justice, from activists to journalists. This year, the event paid homage to Maria Ressa, who was awarded the prize for Justice for Journalists. The organization iAct was granted the Justice for Survivors award for its efforts in supporting survivors of genocide in refugee camps. The event’s namesake, human rights activist Justice Albie Sachs, was honored with a lifetime achievement award, for his work in stopping apartheid in South Africa.
A brigade of A-listers were on-hand at the inspiring evening including Jodie Turner-Smith, Drew Barrymore, Tracee Ellis Ross and George’s co-star in his latest film, Ticket to Paradise, Julia Roberts, among many others. And every single star didn’t just wear their red carpet-best, they took their style up a few notches, setting out in truly head-turning looks. Amal dazzled in a flapper-esque beaded fringe gold and silver Versace gown with Cartier High Jewelry diamond earrings and bracelet, plus glam courtesy of Charlotte Tilbury products.

Dua Lipa chose a classic black scoop-neck Versace tank dress emblazoned with bedazzled buttons, styled by Lorenzo Posocco. The star completed her look with gold jewelry, styling her raven hair into an elegant updo with side swept bangs.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Tracee Ellis Ross attended the fundraiser in an off-the-shoulder Alexander McQueen tea-length dress with asymmetric acid yellow crystal mushroom embroidery styled by Karla Welch. The star teamed her look with a classic black clutch and black Stuart Weitzman pumps.
Julia Roberts
Julia Roberts suited up in a Burberry oversize jacket with colorful pink and orange striped panel, with a matching button-down shirt, a floor-length skirt. She accessorized with Chopard earrings featuring over 22 carats of diamonds, and a timepiece featuring over 37 carats.
Jodie Turner-Smith
Jodie Turner-Smith turned heads in a black sheer Christian Siriano tulle gown from the designer’s latest Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Debuting pink hair, the actress completed her look with Reza jewels, including cascading ruby earrings, and an assortment of glittering rings, Gucci heels, and a Judith Leiber bedazzled bow clutch, plus Charlotte Tilbury makeup.
Gemma Chan
Gemma Chan donned an elegant ruffled petal pink gown from Jason Wu’s Pre-Fall 2022 collection, with her raven hair tied back into an effortless bun.
Donatella Versace
The designer walked the carpet in a shimmering lavender chainmail Versace gown and opted for a matching purple eye look.
Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford
Supermodel Cindy Crawford attended the awards ceremony alongside her husband Rande Gerber, wearing a slinky black asymmetrical halter gown.
Drew Barrymore

Meryl Streep, Grace Gummer and Mark Ronson
Meryl Streep attended the affair with her daughter Grace Gummer and Gummer’s music producer husband Mark Ronson. While Streep donned a flowing black two-piece set, Gummer wore a white long-sleeved gown with keyhole neckline, while Ronson opted for a navy velvet suit.
