Bella Hadid was one of the first stars to embrace the “balletcore” trend and she’s continuing to prove that her Miu Miu cult-beloved satin ballet flats are just the right addition to any ensemble.

On Thursday, the supermodel styled her Miu Miu flats with chunky lilac-colored socks in a post on Instagram. In the photos by Yasmine Diba, Hadid adorned a cropped printed mauve long-sleeve top, a sage green knit cardigan and a velvet crimson-colored pencil skirt.

Hadid sported a light dusting of aqua-toned eyeshadow and an iridescent pink lip, channeling Y2K beauty trends with her long strands and clumpy bangs. (She’s back to being a brunette after her brief stint as a blonde.)

The Ramy actress can be seen lifting her top for the camera, and lounging on a black leather arm chair in the social media post, which she caption: “17 hour flight to work.”

This isn’t the first time Hadid has embraced the viral ballet trend. She was spotted leaving the Hotel Le Royal Monceau in Paris last October after Fashion Month wearing a light gray oversized crewneck sweatshirt with matching sweatpants, a coordinating headband and a gray silky scrunchie with her beloved ballet flats.

The satin ballet slippers have been seeing a resurgence, courtesy of Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection and the “indie sleaze” style comeback. Earlier this year, “balletcore” began to trend on TikTok almost synonymously with the Miu Miu runway show. Pinterest reports the search volume for ballerina style has increased by 1566% in recent months, while the hashtag #balletcore has over 55.2 million views on TikTok.

It’s unclear whether Miuccia Prada had a crystal ball or perhaps a great tarot card reader on-hand, but the classic footwear is having a moment this season — just ask Hadid!
