The world has been chomping at the bit of the ‘grand return’ of Bella Hadid. After laying low for the past few months to focus on her health, we’ve only been offered the odd glimpse of the model getting back to work and running around with real-life cowboys. But as of yesterday, it seems the 26-year-old may be ready to return to what she does best: serving incredible looks while strolling around the streets of New York City.
It’s unclear if this sighting means Hadid is truly gearing up for a public return, but we’ll take what we can get.
Putting on a low-key display, the model stepped out in a black turtleneck and matching wide-leg pants. She covered up in a reversible beige coat with brown lapels and accessorised with light jewellery, black square-toe boots and wire-frame sunglasses.
Her Nahui Ollin bag packed more of a punch, featuring a woven design that is actually made from upcycled newspaper scraps and candy wrappers.
Hadid has been taking time off after a jaw infection saw her Lyme Disease flare up, undergoing over 100 days of treatments.
Back in August, she shared an update on where she was on her journey to better health, assuring concerned fans that she was on the mend and feeling optimistic about life. “One thing I want to express to you all is that 1: I am okay, and you do not have to worry, and 2: I wouldn’t change anything for the world,” she wrote on her Instagram. “If I had to go through all of this again to get here, to this exact moment I’m in right now, with all of you, finally healthy, I would do it all again. It made me who I am today.”
In the photos she shared, Hadid can be seen hooked up to multiple IV catheters, resting in facilities, and cosying up with her dog. She explained her choice to post these particular images and wrote that she wanted to share her year’s more optimistic moments.
“I tried to pick the most positive pictures I could because as painful as this experience was, the outcome was the most enlightening experience of my life, filled with new friends, new visions and a new brain,” she wrote. “I’ll be back when I’m ready. I miss you all so much. I love you all so much.”
Time will tell what her return to modelling will look like, but she did post a video on her TikTok just yesterday that showed herself back in full glam, potentially on a shoot.
