You’re not the only one feeling the weight of the world right now. Things feel heavy and desperate but in a sunny break from your news feed, actress and filmmaker Angela Basset is offering a little much-needed advice. When everything feels too hard, the Black Panther star is here to remind you to look after your body.

When asked about how she prioritizes her mental health, she told E! News, “Well, I try to move more. I have stuff at the house: I have a bike. I have sneakers, two working feet, two working legs.”

And when it comes to staying in shape, she notes it doesn’t have to be complicated: “Move more and eat better,” she says.

Just last week Jennifer Aniston offered her own lockdown lessons and what she does to combat anxiety nowadays.

“There was so much good and so much horror all happening at once. For me, the good was a big decompression and an inventory of ‘What’s it all about?’” the actress said “Being idle is not preferable. It was important for those who were willing to let it be a reset to slowdown, take all of this in, reassess, reevaluate, and excavate. Literally cleaning out crap that we don’t need.”

It’s advice we’ve all heard before, but sometimes we need reminding. If you need some workout ideas from the comfort of your own home, try Kourtney Kardashian’s Booty Burner or Selena Gomez’s cardio-fuelled routine.

When it comes to relationships, Bassett has also offered her own words of wisdom in the past.

“[Choose] someone you like, [with whom] you share a similar perspective and belief system,” she said. “Because you’re not clones. So you’re going to, you know, clash and differ along the way. But if they believe in it and you know how to apologize when need be, they do as well. And, you know, like you say, you like ’em.”

Keep the advice coming, Bassett. We’re listening.
