If you’ve been keeping up with And Just Like That coverage, you know the cast recently met for the first table read for season 2. And now, we finally got the first glimpse of Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt) filming in the streets of New York City.
Based on the incredible volume of paparazzi shots taken during filming of the HBO Max series’ first season, it comes as no surprise that both Parker and her co-star were heavily photographed on their first outing of season 2. They were seen huddled under umbrella wearing looks completely in-character for both stars.
Davis looked like the prim and proper Charlotte in a dotted sheer blouse with white collar and pink bow, teamed with a pencil skirt, top-handle bag and pumps. While Parker was dressed very Carrie-esque by teaming her utilitarian zippered Converted Closet jumpsuit with designer accessories and — yes, that is in fact — a pigeon in her hand.
And Just Like That costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago shared a sneak peek on their official Instagram account of a photo of Parker in a pair of gray socks, open-toed Christian Dior high heels, with a silver Fendi baguette anklet under her onesie. Right next to her feet is a very realistic-looking pigeon that’s actually a clutch from J.W. Anderson’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection. The eccentric novelty Pigeon Clutch Bag opens under the bird’s wing and is available for pre-order now.
Last season was filled with so many fashionable Easter eggs from the original series, so looks like we’re in store for a lot of bird references in season 2. After all, Bradshaw has a thing for birds. (Anyone remember the line, “I put a bird on my head.” from the first movie?) From feathered fascinators to bird-shaped bags (no one can forget when Big gave her a bedazzled Judith Leiber swan clutch in SATC season 2), Carrie’s sartorial tie to the animal never ends.
Two weeks ago, fans started to get wind that season 2 was about to being filming after both Parker and Sara Ramírez teased their scripts during a table read and the show’s costume designers shared a small glimpse into the new season.
“Just this much. For now. X, SJ,” Parker captioned her photo on Instagram of her script for episode 201 of And Just Like That with the title crossed out. Ramírez, who portrays Miranda’s comedian love interest Che, also shared a photo, featuring a booklet of HBO Max’s “Social Media Guidelines.”
On Thursday, Parker shared the same photo as the costume designers on Instagram writing, “First exterior. Streets of NY. X, SJ.”
